Video Description

In the video I say 1 1/2 cups of butter or 3/4 cup of butter. I mean "1 1/2 STICKS of butter or 3/4 of a cup"!

How to make three cute Halloween cakes in a jar!
Here is Elise's video:

Cake recipe (leave the pumpkin spice out if you want vanilla cake).

3/4 cup butter (if you use salted butter omit the salt in the recipe)
1 1/2 cups white granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/4 teaspoon salt (if you use salted butter omit this)
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 cups milk

Cream sugar, butter and vanilla together and beat well. Add the eggs and mix well.
Add the milk and blend, add flour, baking powder, salt, pumpkin spice and flour and beat until combined.

Fill jars to about half full. If you want to keep your cake from browning too much you can place it in a container filled with about 2 inches of hot water. Bake at 350F for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. The water bath is not essential.
