I've actually have had these moments on Airplanes. There is something so solitary about sitting in economy despite being crammed in a cabin like sardines from ass to elbows. The stewardess dims the light and everyone drifts off to sleep but you sit there wide eyed and awake, yet time seems to stand still as you lose your self in the soft whirring of of the jet engines and the faint polyester smell. Music becomes one of the last comforts on such a long arduous trips.
