Video Description
I built this for about $200. It has an 8hp Briggs & Stratton vertical shaft engine salvaged from from a rusted out yard tractor, a 2 stage hydraulic pump from ebay, valve and hoses bought new from Northern Hydraulic, a small used gas can for a hydraulic reservoir, piston was found at a junkyard, and the frame is built from misc found scrap metal. This has been operable for 7+ years, stored outdoors, more than once I have had to clean the points in the engine to get it running after it sits for a year. The engine is old and tired but it splits most of what I feed it.

Post a commentDo your body a big favor and get a splitter. If you can sell a few loads of firewood it will cover the cost of the log splitter and you will wish you had gotten one long ago.
engine $300,
pump and mount $150,
cylinder $150,
iron I beam and scrap iron maybe free..
always enjoyed watchin log splitters in action lol
